Danley Sound Labs speakers create a pure groove

Danley Sound Labs, create ground-breaking high-end audio systems designed specifically for nightclubs, live arenas, festivals and touring.

Tom Danley has a long history of innovation in loudspeaker design, military and industrial acoustics and noise cancellation. He holds no less than 30 individual patents, including the infamous Servodrive subwoofer as used on legendary 1990s world tours such as Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, U2 and the Happy Mondays, as well as inventing acoustic levitation as used by NASA. More recently he has developed the Synergy Horn, Tapped Horn, Paraline and Shaded Amplitude Lens Technology which we are proud to offer today.

These designs create a truly immersive musical experience for the audience. Every layer of sound is accurately reproduced, with crystal clear and clean highs, detailed and warm midrange, and bass frequencies that are defined but still intensely physical.

Every once in a while something comes along that takes your breath away. Danleys deliver a bone shaking sound of pure clarity that seemed to wrap itself around the crowd on the dance floor. This is a system DJ`s will want to play on and clubbers will want to dance to.
— John Digweed - DJ & Producer, Bedrock Records

Traditionally, line arrays have been chosen for large venues, festivals and concert tours – but these long hangs of speakers generate destructive interference, creating a loud but inconsistent sound, and are easily affected by wind. This is unavoidable and cannot be fixed via DSP, due to the simple fact that the ear is hearing multiple speakers at different distances, no matter where you stand. Danley speakers create powerful sound with accurate transients and immense clarity at any distance, with less amp power and far fewer cabinets - true green eco credentials whilst letting fans experience music the way it’s meant to be heard!

This new approach is achieving accolades from artists, venues and events such as:

For the last 15 years or so, I have been using DJ kit modified with hi fi/mastering grade components for amazing sound. I was blown away by the quality of your speakers when I played on them at De Marktkantine in Amsterdam. Very glad to see that you now have a UK presence too!

Synergy Horns

As the cornerstone of Danley products, the unique Synergy Horn is a revolutionary full range, point source loudspeaker design which is not only accurate in time and magnitude, but is incredibly consistent in response over the entire stated coverage angle. This patented technology combines multiple drivers of different bandwidths into a single horn, making them behave as a single, high output and high fidelity source.

Synergy also maintains tight directivity control down to much lower frequencies than any competing product, allowing our system designers to keep sound where it's needed most - in the audience and off the walls and ceiling, reducing reflections and anomalies, which creates a pure, natural and uncoloured audio experience for all members of the crowd, whilst keeping off-site noise to a minimum.

It’s a great system and the mids are just BEAUTIFUL.

Tapped Horn & Boundary Coupled Subwoofers

A subwoofer should deliver the low end as accurately and efficiently as possible, but conventional designs are muddy, slow and undefined. The Tapped Horn is a new approach that utilises both sides of a speaker cone, offering increased output efficiency, linear response and lower distortion, whilst achieving lower frequencies with a smaller footprint than other sub designs. At any scale, the frequency response of this technology remains consistent, allowing a single subwoofer to sound the same as the largest arrays.

The BC Series is another new class of subwoofer, using unique Boundary Coupled horns to deliver exceptionally high efficiency and power handling with actual directivity - there is up to 20dB less output behind the speakers, without the need for extra cabinets, amp channels, or complex DSP. Not only does this keep the neighbours happy, it also ensures tight, clean, deep and uncompromised bass!

Jericho Horn

The Jericho Horn combines several Danley technologies, integrating the Tapped Horn, the Synergy Horn and the Paraline Lens into one large format horn which is capable of extremely high sound pressure levels. This tight integration creates a a single source, high output concert box capable of covering audiences of several thousands of people, with clean sound, high clarity and great detail.

The J3-94 puts 18 individual drivers into one, 90 by 40 degree box that produces 148dB of power, with outstanding precision and clarity. With integrated fly track and bumper bar options the J3-94 can be easily flown, or it's relatively low weight allows the system to be ground stacked with minimal crew in  very short space of time.

Only a single cabinet per side is needed for most concerts, festivals or large clubs making the Jericho the smart choice for maximum performance in any large venue or outdoor environment.

In summary, when critiquing a soundsystem you have to ask yourself… what are the true measures of success for a soundsystem? Design? Sound quality? Brand image? Clarity? Volume? Ability to meet demand/requirements? Satisfied users/audience? The list could go on and on.
And within our assessment of the Pure Groove soundsystem, the competition do have something to fear with this product, we feel. It ticks all of the above boxes and more, and we can see this speaker set-up being used in many more venues and festivals alike in the near future.
