At the start of the summer period in 2014, Neuron were called upon by their local council in Salford to provide full production services for the free community focused Spirit of Salford event. Featuring an array of dance, poetry, performance and live music across two days in the heart of Swinton.

We deployed a 42 square metre mobile truck-based stage, chosen for the time it saves in rigging and the limited access to the green outside of the council buildings, and complimented this with an array of moving and static light fixtures with dual hazers. On the sound front, we chose to use our much loved Arcline system in a ground-stack configuration of four subs and four tops per side, providing ample headroom for the more rock-influenced bands on the bill! This was combined with a compliment of Stasys 4 and Stasys 2 wedge monitors, and was all controlled via dual Behringer X32 digital mixing consoles and S16 digital snake platform for both front of house and monitor mix positions.

The system handled the wide variety of content with ease, and kept off-site noise spillage to a minimum, allowing us to make a real impact for the headliner – local lass Ren Harvieu who of late is more used to gracing stages such as Hop Farm Festival, and rightly so. The audience, which included members of her family from the area, loved the show and we received a great number of compliments from production and crowd alike.

We look forward to being able to support our local community more with similar events in the future!
